    My first trail shoe!

    I'm normally a big Mizuno shoe person and have never run in Hokas before. I signed up for an 18-mile trail race that recommended trail shoes, so I found good reviews of these being fast, light and grippy. I took them out for a run (mainly pavement) the week before to test and the rocker, while noticeable, was a positive complement to keep my legs moving forward. I ran (and won!) the 18 mile trail race in them, through rocks and roots and uneven grass surfaces and they did the trick. The only negative was the tongue's black dye turned my white socks blue/black on the top. I haven't been able to wash it out.
