I preface my review with the following statement; I've never worn Brooks running shoes in the 25 years I've been running AND I've worn these for a single 5.5 mile run before writing this review.
Size - I am a 9 in my Saucony Peregrine and Saucony Kinvara 14 and a 9.5 in my Altra Timp 4. The size 9 Brooks Revel 7 fits about a quarter size smaller than my Kinvara 14 (my other road shoes). It is noticable, but not problematic. The width is slightly narrower as well, but again not problematic.
Cushion - The Brooks Revel 7 is the firmest running shoe I have ever worn. EVER. It is not an uncomfortable amount of firmness, but it is very, very firm. The ride while running is comfortable but I feel these shoes are better suited for shorter and faster efforts (races, tempo runs, speed work, etc.). I am sure they will soften slightly as I break them in.
Overall - These shoes are comfortable, albeit very firm, and I feel they would best serve the runner who is looking for a well-fitting shoe that is suited for faster and shorter efforts.
