    Run Like the Air Currents

I have had about 7 pairs of Noosa Tri shoes over the past several years. I need a low-drop shoe, and I love the slipper-like fit of Asics. I also like the roll off the toe with these shoes, and they are super light. I recommend them for more experienced runners, as they are not THE most cushioned shoe out there. But I prefer a more minimal feel. I use these on both road and trail, but normally I am just running a mile or 2 to get to a trail. Noosas are not designated as a trail shoe--they don't have that kind of tread. But when I am on the trail, I personally am more concerned with feeling springy and agile, especially on rocky terrain, and these shoes are great for that. In this latest pair of Noosas, I just placed 3rd female today for the most rugged, rocky, trail run I have done in 14 years -- 2800 foot elevation gain, steep ascents and descents. I felt like they were supportive and responsive.

My typical run is about 7 or 8 miles, with long trail runs (10+ miles) on the weekend. So they work for distance if, like me, you prefer a minimal feel.

One note on the color: Online the shoes appeared to be museum wall mauve. IRL, they are closer to Donny Osmond purple, ha ha! But that's ok; covered with trail dust and mud, they are a bit more muted now. ;)
