I have another pair of Altras but I don't remember which style. I found these Provision 7s that match the University colors where I work, and I've had a difficult time with my achilles tendon on one foot - my typical minimalist sneakers have made it worse, but when I wear my old Altras I'm not walking in pain. So I thought I'd add a new pair (especially since my old pair has holes on the tops of the shoes above my big toes). The heels on these are SO TIGHT that I have bruises. I don't have a really wide heel (to my knowledge), I do have a wide toe box and hate a drop in my shoes so Altras are great. I've now done some Googling to find there are different widths for Altra styles. Now I know better. I'm hoping these will loosen up as I continue wearing them, but I definitely will do some more searching to figure out which style I started out with and go back to those. These have some kind of cloud-shaped padding on both sides right in front of the heel that's stitched, and that seems to be what's bothering me so much.
