Comfortable on the first run and smooth to the end of it.

A near perfect balance between comfort and speed, between soft cushioning and stability. The uppers may be a little tight for my foot but tight uppers never seem to bother me when I start running. The stride remains consistent for the entire run (though my typical run is only 3-5 miles). I have moved toward cushioning as I have gotten older and these are my current favorite. For other user's sense of comparability, the Asics Novablast is softer and their GT-2000 is stiffer. NB is slightly softer and their More is much softer/less stable. Closest match might be the Brooks Glycerin. Hope that helps.
